Taschen
Taschen is a German publishing house, founded in 1980 by Benedikt Taschen in Cologne. It specializes in books on art, film, fashion, photography, architecture and pop culture. The company has its own bookshops around the world.
Benedikt Taschen began by publishing comic book collections (Taschen Comics). Her next ambition was to publish highly illustrated, innovative and well-designed art books at low prices. To achieve this, Taschen publishes its first books with short texts, in three languages (e.g. English, French, German). This enables the publisher to print several tens of thousands of copies, enabling it to offer its books at reasonable prices in several different markets.
